Second Street Road Construction Update 8/27/2026

Dear LGSD Staff and Families,

We wanted to provide an update regarding the Second Street construction project near Central Elementary and La Grande High School.

The City of La Grande is confident the paving will be completed by Sunday, August 30th, allowing travel around Central Elementary, La Grande High School and La Grande Middle School to follow normal routes. Street signs may not be fully installed, so be alert to potential temporary signs. 

We appreciate all the hard work that has been completed by the City and the asphalt contractor. 

We are looking forward to a great start to the 2026–27 school year!
